Summary

The objetive of the research were to characterize the weight, lenght and reproductive performance got by Coho salmon females from different hatchens, reproductive seasons and date fo spawn and to study the relationships among those variables. For this a total of 1,188 individual records of 2 years old females from your hatchenis located on X and XII Region. Controls were made during 1993 and 1994. The model used included effects of year or spawn season, hatchery, interaction and fecundation date. This one grouped in six class of 5 days each one. Both, the factor year of spawn and hatchery include various effects as: different germoplasm, water temperature, feeding, general management. Association among variables was estimated by correlation coefficient of Pearson and through the analysis of determination coefficients. Reproductive and weight characteristics showed high variability in some years and in sorne hatchechies indicanting an ambiental origen of this variation year of spawn mainly affected survivance, number of life spawn at eye state and relative fecundity and did not affect the spawn diameter and body condition. Late spawn presented higher mortality of eggs. Beside, female that spawed early or so late in the season produced eggs of less diameter. As the season of spawing went on, the needed time to reach eye state drecreased. Females producing more eggs per kg of weight that is to say those of higher relative fecundity and most efficient tend to have more total fecundity, less weight and length producing more eggs at eye state with less diameter and higher survivance females of higher weight had more length and tend to produce eggs of larger diameter. Keywords: Coho salmon, reproductive characteristic.
